About Dublin Minicoach Hire

About Us

Over ten years moving groups around Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Here are the people, the coaches and the standards behind the service.

Built to fill a gap in Dublin's group transport

Our story

Dublin has never been short of taxis, and it has never been short of full-size coaches. What it was short of was everything in between.

That is the gap Michael set out to fill over ten years ago, with one minicoach and one rule: look after the group like they were his own.He still drives most of the jobs himself. He still answers the phone, still replies to the messages, and still remembers the people who booked him a second and third time. There is no call centre here, no marketing department, and no script. There is a diary, a clean bus, and a standard he does not drop. That is why people recommend him the way they do.

The 5am airport run that leaves bang on time. The hen party bus turned out with water, tissues and a playlist ready to go, and a gift for the bride. The festival trips, the weddings, the corporate runs and the pick-ups two counties away, north or south. Different group every day, the same care every time.

Today we cover airport transfers, weddings, hen and stag parties, corporate travel and group days out, across Dublin and the whole island. The promise has not changed since day one. Turn up early, sort the details, and get everyone there together.

See what we do
"I still answer the phone myself. If someone's trusting me with a 4am airport run or getting their group to a wedding on time, they want to know the person picking them up is the same one they booked. That's how I've always done it, and it's why people come back."

The driver is the service

The people

Anyone can put a coach on the road. The difference between a good trip and a bad one is almost always the person behind the wheel.

Hired for temperament, not just a licenceEvery driver is experienced and fully licensed — that's the baseline, not the selling point. We hire on how someone handles a coach full of people.
A hen party and a school run are not the same jobThey need a completely different touch, and our drivers know which one they're on before they turn the key.
Female drivers on the teamOften a requirement for school groups, sports clubs and hen parties, and something a lot of operators simply can't offer. Ask when you book.
The same face, if you want itCompanies on regular staff runs usually do, and so do families who got on with the driver they had last time. Where the diary allows, we'll arrange it.

Kept the way we'd want to travel in them

The coaches

Our vehicles carry up to 16 passengers plus luggage; the size that actually suits most groups, and the whole reason people come to us instead of booking three taxis.

Serviced on schedule

Maintenance is planned, not reactive. A coach that breaks down on the way to an airport has cost somebody a holiday, and that isn't a phone call we're willing to make.

Cleaned between every job

Every trip starts with a clean coach. You should be comfortable putting your family — or your clients — into it without a second thought.

Room for what you're bringing

Cases, golf clubs, ski bags, prams, kit bags. Tell us what's travelling with you and we'll confirm it fits well before the day.

Licensed, insured and accountable

Licensing & Insurance

Group transport is a regulated business, and it should be. Here is exactly what we hold — ask for the paperwork any time and you'll get it.

Road passenger transport operator licenceWe hold a National Transport Authority road passenger transport operator licence [number needed]. Every group travels with a properly licensed operator, not an unregulated one.
Full public service vehicle insuranceEvery vehicle carries full public service vehicle insurance, so your group is covered from pick-up to drop-off. A copy of the cert is available to corporate and school bookings on request.
Garda vetting for school and youth workDrivers used on school and underage sports groups are Garda vetted, so schools, clubs and parents can book with complete confidence.
CVRT tested and roadworthyEvery coach holds a current Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test certificate and is serviced on schedule. It keeps the vehicle legal and safe, and we do not let it slide.
Common Questions

About the business

Who runs Dublin Minicoach Hire?

The business is owned and run by Michael, who set it up over ten years ago and still handles the bookings himself. When you ring the number on this site, you are talking to the person who will organise your trip.

How long have you been operating?

Over ten years, and we have grown every year since we started. Most of that growth has come from repeat customers and word of mouth rather than advertising.

Are you a licensed operator?

Yes. We hold a National Transport Authority road passenger transport operator licence and carry full public service vehicle insurance on every coach, so your group always travels with a properly licensed, insured operator.

Can we request the same driver for repeat bookings?

Yes, where the diary allows. Companies booking regular staff transport often prefer it, and so do families who have had a driver they got on with. Just mention it when you book.

Do you only cover Dublin?

Dublin and the surrounding counties are the bulk of our work, but we take groups anywhere in Ireland, north and south. See the for the full picture.
